Here's what you'll be doing

1. Accounts Payable & Receivable:
   • Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
   • Prepare and send customer invoices, follow up on outstanding balances, and reconcile discrepancies.
   • Monitor and record payments received and ensure they are applied correctly to customer accounts.
   • Prepare and process accounts payable checks and electronic payments.
2. Transaction Recording & Data Entry:
   • Accurately input financial data into the dealership’s accounting system, maintaining up-to-date and comprehensive records.
   • Ensure that all financial records comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
3. Bank Reconciliations:
   • Perform regular bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of cash balances.
   • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly and report findings to the Accounting Manager.
4. General Ledger Support:
   • Assist in maintaining the general ledger by posting journal entries and ensuring proper account coding.
   • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including preparing balance sheet account reconciliations.
5. Financial Reporting & Audits:
   • Assist in generating periodic financial reports for management review.
   • Prepare documentation for internal and external audits and assist auditors as needed.
6. Administrative Duties:
   • Maintain organized and secure filing systems for financial records, invoices, and receipts.
   • Assist with general office duties, such as answering phones and providing customer support when needed.

You need these qualifications

• Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of accounting experience.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., CDK Global, Reynolds & Reynolds) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with standard accounting practices, the automotive industry.
• Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in work.
• Analytical Thinking: Capable of identifying trends, discrepancies, and providing solutions.
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers.
• Team Player: Positive attitude, willingness to collaborate, and assist colleagues when necessary.

• Prior experience in an automotive dealership or related industry.
• Familiarity with dealership-specific financial processes.
