To do that, we need someone extraordinary.  We are seeking an experienced and energetic Automotive Service Manager to lead our team of skilled technicians and service advisors. In this pivotal role, you will be the driving force behind our service department, ensuring smooth operations, exceptional Guest experiences, and consistent business growth.

Here's what you'll be doing

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a team of service advisors, technicians, and support staff to meet and exceed performance goals.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives, provide feedback, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a highly skilled and motivated workforce.

Operational Excellence

  • Manage daily operations of the service department, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and adherence to company policies.
  • Schedule and prioritize repair orders to maximize productivity and minimize Guest wait times.
  • Monitor workflow, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements to enhance service delivery.

Guest Service

  • Ensure every Guest receives outstanding service, from initial contact to the completion of their vehicle's service or repair.
  • Address and resolve Guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Foster long-term Guest relationships by building trust and providing transparent, value-driven solutions.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the service department budget, including labour and operational expenses.
  • Analyze financial reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement sales strategies to promote services, upsell products, and achieve revenue targets.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations, including workplace safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintain accurate records for service transactions, warranties, and parts inventory.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a secure environment for employees and Guests.

You need these qualifications

Education & Experience

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in Automotive Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive service, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and achieve financial targets.
  • Technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair processes.
  • Proficiency with service management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Certifications

  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License.

It would be nice if you have

  • Experience with Genesis systems.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or equivalent.
  • 310S certification.
