Here's what you'll be doing

You'll be responsible for leading, coaching, and motivating a team of Sales & Service Team professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement. This role is ideal for an ambitious leader with a passion for the automotive industry, a knack for business strategy, and a proven track record in sales and operations management

Your strategic insight and strong leadership skills will be essential in leading the team, optimizing processes and, and ensuring the achievement of overall dealership goals. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership & Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales, service, finance, and administrative professionals, ensuring alignment with the Downtown AutoGroup’s vision and objectives.
    • Foster a high-performance culture by setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and ensuring accountability at all levels of the organization.
    • Drive a customer-first approach across all departments to ensure a consistently positive experience for every client.
  • Sales Strategy & Performance:
    • Oversee all aspects of vehicle sales (new and pre-owned) to achieve volume, profit, and customer satisfaction targets.
    • Develop and implement innovative sales strategies to increase market share and maintain Downtown AutoGroup’s competitive edge in the Toronto market.
    • Monitor sales performance and profitability, providing strategic direction to improve sales efficiency, customer retention, and growth.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Oversee all day-to-day operations, including sales, service, parts, and financing, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
    • Implement best practices in inventory management, sales forecasting, and pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and brand requirements while maintaining the highest standards of dealership operations.
  • Customer Service & Satisfaction:
    • Champion a customer-focused culture by continuously enhancing Downtown AutoGroup’s sales and service processes.
    • Analyze customer feedback and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement, driving initiatives to exceed customer expectations.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop campaigns and promotions that attract new customers and retain loyal clients.
  • Financial Management:
    • Take full ownership of the dealership’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
    • Monitor expenses, control costs, and implement strategies to improve profitability across all departments.
    • Develop and manage relationships with financial institutions, manufacturers, and key business partners to support dealership growth and stability.
  • Team Building & Development:
    • Recruit, train, and retain top talent across all departments, ensuring the dealership has the right team to achieve its goals.
    • Create and promote a positive work environment that fosters teamwork, professional development, and employee satisfaction.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide development opportunities to help team members advance in their careers.
  • Compliance & Safety:
    • Ensure the dealership operates in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols to provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.

You need these qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience as a General Manager or General Sales Manager in a dealership with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding performance metrics while achieving leading CSI scores
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven ability to drive sales and manage a team effectively.
    • Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
    • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
    • Proficiency in dealership management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge:
    • In-depth understanding of automotive sales processes, inventory management, market trends, customer preferences, and department profitability.
    • Understand the importance of providing an exceptional customer experience to both internal and external customers.
    • Ability to analyze financial data and performance metrics effectively

It would be nice if you

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of local market conditions, industry trends, and competitor activity.
  • Have expereince with the Ford and Lincoln brands.
